Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC)

Hello, I'm Marina!

Compassionate Counselling in Nanaimo & Online Across BC

I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) based on Vancouver Island. I provide in-person counselling in Nanaimo and virtual sessions across British Columbia.

A Journey Shaped by Experience

My path to counselling is guided by both professional training and lived experience. I am adopted, have Indigenous roots, and have spent much of my life supporting children, youth, parents, and foster caregivers. I’ve also been a foster parent myself, which gives me a personal understanding of the joys and challenges of caregiving. My background in social work helps me see the systems that shape people’s lives and relationships, and informs how I show up for clients with compassion and grounded perspective.

Balancing Life’s Many Roles

I’m also a partner, daughter, sister, and dog mom. Like many people I work with, I know what it’s like to hold multiple roles while navigating identity, belonging, and change.

How I Work With Clients

Healing happens in relationship. In therapy, we explore patterns and coping strategies with curiosity and compassion rather than judgment. Together, we focus on what’s working, what isn’t, and how you might build new ways of coping, connecting, and caring for yourself.

My approach is relational, client-centred, and trauma-informed, creating a space where you can slow down, feel heard, and explore your experiences at a pace that feels safe and respectful.

You’re Not Alone

Reaching out for counselling can feel vulnerable, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. I would be honoured to walk alongside you.

About Me

My Services

Individual Counselling

Counselling for individuals provides a supportive space to navigate stress, relationships, emotional challenges, or life transitions. Together, we’ll explore patterns, develop coping strategies, and work toward greater balance, confidence, and connection. Offered in-person in Downtown Nanaimo or online across British Columbia.

Child Welfare & Caregiver
Counselling

Support for those navigating the child welfare system - including foster parents, kinship caregivers, biological parents, and youth. A safe space to process your experiences, manage stress, and feel understood.

Services

You don’t need to have all the answers, and you don’t need the “perfect” words.
All you need is a safe space to start exploring, be heard, and take the first step toward feeling better.
