Child Welfare & Caregiver Counselling

Support from Someone Who Understands

A safe space to process your experiences, manage stress, and gain support as you navigate the child welfare system.

Navigating the System Can Be Challenging and Complex

Being involved in the child welfare system, whether as a caregiver, parent, or youth, can bring unique challenges:

  • Emotional exhaustion from caregiving

  • Stress navigating the child welfare system

  • Difficulty setting boundaries while supporting children and families

  • Feeling overwhelmed or isolated in your experiences

Counselling for Caregivers and Individuals

With professional experience in child and family services, and as a foster parent myself, I provide counselling that:

  • Allows you to process your experiences without needing to explain the system

  • Supports stress management and helps prevent burnout

  • Helps strengthen boundaries and communication

  • Provides guidance, understanding, and a space to feel heard

Who I Support

I work with:

  • Foster parents (individually or as a pair)

  • Kinship caregivers

  • Biological parents involved in the child welfare system

  • Youth (16+) navigating their experiences

  • Individuals impacted by or involved in child welfare services

Moving Forward with Support

Whether you are new to the system or have years of experience, counselling can help you feel supported, grounded, and better equipped to navigate the challenges you’re facing.
